Oslo, October 25, 2007. Aker University Hospital has entered into an Enterprise Search licence contract with IntelliSearch. Their objective is that improved information access for administrative and clinical personnel will effectively support quality in the treatment of patients.
”Administrative and clinical personnel currently use various information sources and end-user interfaces in their daily work. By offering one single search user interface, we intend to ease their information access. We expect this to increase the availability of relevant information - also related to the treatment of patients. We have large expectations that this new solution enables our personnel in being updated on recent developments in their field – whether it is research, new medicine, routines or other. That is all the factors that are important in offering quality treatment to our patients” said CIO Pedro Thormodsen at Aker University Hospital.
The contract entails implementation of IntelliSearch Enterprise Search for parts of the organisation. Initially the search functionality will include search in file servers, emailserver and quality system for 400 users. In time, the objective is that the solution will be available for 3500 users and that it will include the most important information sources such as medicine catalogues. The agreement includes installation and set-up of IntelliSearch Enterprise, license and support. The agreement also includes the right to purchase additional licenses for adding new connectors and end-users.
”We chose IntelliSearch as their solution represents an effective and user friendly information access solution whilst enabling flexible and cost-effective additions of new information sources”, concluded Mr Thormodsen.
”IntelliSearch welcomes Aker University Hospital as the first hospital to implement information access solutions based on IntelliSearch Enterprise. Our experience shows that knowledge based industries enjoy tremendous benefits when implementing Enterprise Search – both in terms of knowledge sharing, process efficiency, and quality. The health care sector is a large and knowledge intensive industry that we have large market expectations for going forward”, according to CEO Harald Jellum, IntelliSearch.
