Oslo, Norway / San Francisco, CA – October 5, 2007 – IntelliSearch, the enterprise search vendor, today announced the availability of new technologies in the IntelliSearch Enterprise Search Platform that provide integration and extended search capabilities to Microsoft Office SharePoint® Server 2007.
With this platform enhancement, IntelliSearch provides Office SharePoint Server 2007’s users with advanced search, navigation and monitoring capabilities that leverage the power of relevance technology to increase information retrieval across the enterprise and to empower the knowledge worker.
IntelliSearch allows information access to Sharepoint repositories as well as both structured and unstructured repositories across a much larger domain of types of content and applications. Examples are file-servers, email-servers, document depositories, applications and external sources. With IntelliSearch, customers will have ready-made connectors to the most popular applications in the market place – and thereby enabling search in other applications from SharePoint at low integration costs.
The search solution increases information worker effectiveness by providing information access interface with categorized results views and allows end-user set-up of saved-searches and monitoring of new related documents. The end-user can distribute monitoring alerts in the form of text-messages or email - to individuals or groups. The solution also provides automated views of related documents to the content located in the individual SharePoint collaboration room or work-area. The views show related and similar documents that are located in other SharePoint collaboration rooms or applications.
IntelliSearch enables publishing of a large volume of instantly searchable data to an Internet or Intranet site. The IntelliSearch platform lets developers add search and monitoring functionality to portals and other applications.
