The search solution is more than ‘just another functionality - it’s of operational significance to customers, and of strategic sales value to Gecko, says CEO of Gecko Mr Brynjar Gevelt.
The agreement means that Gecko will integrate IntelliSearch into its products ePhorte and ePort, to offer basis search and advanced enterprise search to their customers. ePhorte and ePort are Geckos respective case & document management and portal solutions for the public sector. Gecko has more than 200 customer installations at local and central government installations in Norway. The basic search functionality will be offered as part of the standard solution and will be covered by end-customer’s support contracts. Advanced Enterprise Search will be offered customers as add-on products available at a charge.
Gecko will create add-on modules in its ephorte/ePort products based on the advanced search functionality from IntelliSearch. Gecko’s product portfolio will include advanced search and monitoring modules integrated into its case and document management system as well as its portal solution. These solutions will be offered as add-ons to the standard solutions. This includes an advanced information search and retrieval solution, an enterprise-wide search solution, search and monitoring of external media and internet sources. The basic search and add-on modules are expected to be market-ready in the fall of 2007.
All Norwegian government institutions are required by law to have case and document management solutions in accordance with the NOARK-4 standard. ErgoGroup has exclusive reseller rights to the Gecko solutions in the Norwegian market. The reseller supports more than 200 ePhorte installations in the local and central government sector in Norway.
Case management is the core process in most government agencies - and good information access is central to their process efficiency and their application of the rule of law. The new search capabilities in ePort and ePhorte will significantly improve the information access to the individual case worker, organisation and the public, says Mr. Halvor Walla, Applications Director in ErgoGroup.
The search solutions enable public sector employees and users of public services to easily find information regarding policies, regulations, case status and service offerings. The goal is that this will increase service levels, quality and user satisfaction.
We have large expectations to that the customers see cost saving and quality improvement potential in case management and customer service with these search solutions, concludes Mr. Walla..
IntelliSearch’s experience confirms Gecko’s and ErgoGroup’s view on the importance of good search functionality in governmental case and document management tools.
Our experience is that good search functionality simplifies the workday to governmental employees and improves the information access and case flow internally and externally. We are pleased with this OEM-agreement with and the opportunities it represents. Gecko and their reseller ErgoGroup’s good market position can make this a large market for us, says Mr. Harald Jellum in IntelliSearch.
